The Lucas Theatre

The Lucas Theatre opened in 1921 as a preeminent venue for films and performing arts. More than 90 years later, it hosts concerts, live theater, opera, and films from eras past and present. The theater’s design was a culmination of more than two years of collaboration between owner Arthur Lucas and architect C.K. Howell, and combined Lucas’ favorite architectural details from the Greek revival, Adams-inspired, Art Deco, and Neoclassical periods. In a time of perpetual distraction, the Lucas provides an entrancing, nostalgic escape.
