Sara Cox grew up in Savannah, loving every minute of being immersed in the low country’s laid-back lifestyle.
After earning an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro, Cox ventured back home to Savannah. Restaurant jobs followed, where she truly learned all the various aspects of being a chef. But feeling a little burned out after five years in the trade, Cox decided to take a step back from ‘the line’ and went into the administration side of the industry.
Cox missed the creativity of the culinary world, however, and it was early in 2020 when a serendipitous (pun intended) event turned her thoughts in a very interesting direction.
She had been reading about how certain caterers were doing ‘grazing tables’ as an extension to a small charcuterie board, so she threw a party, asking each person to bring a selection of cheeses. The rest, as they say, is history! Cox began sharing her creations on Instagram and amassing a loyal following.
This propelled the creation of Sarandipity Fare, where she happily shares her love of food through ultimate charcuterie and brunch boards, as well as artful grazing tables for larger events.
