Michael and Iris Scarborough started Tybee’s most lauded dolphin tour business in 1996, growing it into an award-winning company. Tripadvisor awarded them a plethora of Certificates of Excellence, and the Dolphin Tour company became a featured attraction on national media outlets, including Good Morning America, the Today Show, Discovery Channel and Southern Living. 

In 2021, Telfair Capital made the Scarborough family an offer they could not refuse, and the business changed hands into another of Tybee’s great families, The McGraws, to continue its storied legacy. 

Captain Mike’s Dolphin Tours hosts trips for area schools, visitors and residents alike, and offers discounts for Girl and Boy Scout troops, their Scout leaders, parents and chaperones. Bookings can be made online, but the company points out that changes in the schedule may happen due to the weather or tides.

Every tour is a little bit different and a new adventure. In the words of one guest, “This tour was so exciting! Our captain was great and the tour guide was exceptional. We saw lots of dolphins playing and there were also some babies. I would definitely recommend!”
