Southern Entrepreneurs: Fulfillment.com

Most entrepreneurs agree that timing is everything. Meet some of the south's most successful that have changed with the times or hit the market at just the right moment.

In the few quiet moments during multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Justin Singletary dreamed about coming home and starting a business.

Today, Singletary is managing member and CEO of Savannah-based Fulfillment.com (FDC), one of the fastest growing providers of e-commerce fulfillment services to independent Internet retailers worldwide.

A former Army Ranger stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, Singletary worked to be his own boss, starting out in real estate development and sales.  The “Real-estate Ranger” focused on helping active soldiers and vets find desirable and affordable housing in the Coastal Empire.  Along with a high school buddy, he diversified his business interests by selling health and beauty products on the Internet.  Sales exploded and soon Singletary and his staff realized that they had no choice but to outsource his warehousing and distribution. He engaged a series B2C fulfillment contractors, none which met Singletary’s exacting standards of performance.  Relying on the Ranger motto, “Rangers lead the way!”, Singletary was soon planning to co-found his own e-commerce fulfillment business.  And in March 2011, Fulfillment.com was born.     “We realized that we could provide high-performance fulfillment services for small to medium size Internet businesses at a lower cost,” Singletary explained. “Our services include receiving and warehousing our client’s merchandise, but the fun starts when a customer drops a product in the Internet shopping cart of one of our 400+ clients and clicks ‘BUY’”.  Through Fulfillment.com’s proprietary Cloud-based order management system, those orders are automatically transmitted to the appropriate distribution center in the US or one of Fulfillment.com’s international distribution centers in Canada, the UK or Mexico for immediate pick, pack and ship.  Fulfillment.com ships 99.8002% of all of its orders the same day they are received.  Singletary notes his company’s trademark, “Worldwide fulfillment made easy”.

Fulfillment.com’s three-year growth rate from 2012 through 2014 of more than 36,000% exceeded all but one of America’s fastest growing private businesses according to Inc. magazine.

Singletary attributes the company’s success to his Fulfillment.com team, currently employing more than 70+ employees and in the US. He challenges each Fulfillment.com team member to ask this question daily, “What will I do today to delight an FDC client?”

Singletary frequently distributes tee-shirts to his team members.  The latest says it all… “At FDC… Gets SHIP Done.”
