SouthCoast Health Urology
Over ten years ago, Dr. Thomas E. Shook founded Urological Specialists of Georgia, which is now SouthCoast Health Urology, in the hopes of assisting people with their urological problems and making an impact on the community.
Since that day a decade ago, Dr. Shook has achieved those goals, and has become known for cutting-edge technology and excellent customer care. His team at SouthCoast Health Urology is equally as impressive, with their own Dr. John Coursey performing the first laparoscopic surgery in Savannah nearly seven years ago, and they are constantly improving themselves by bringing on new talent like Dr. Heather Wallace.
Dr. Wallace told South about one patient she remembers vividly from her residency, who inspires her every day to treat her patients and their families with the best possible care. “I participated in the care of a patient who was being treated for a rare and aggressive form of prostate cancer,” Wallace said. “Every morning on round his wife asked us how we were doing and thanked us for taking care of him. Their kindness in the face of adversity was, and still is, inspirational.”
All three doctors are dedicated to their patients and are committed to giving them the best level of care in the region. See more from our doctors in the latest issue of South!
