Tonya Samuels, founder of  Pillars of Hope Counseling Services, in Richmond Hill, Georgia and SOAR: Women’s Mental Health and Wellness Symposium has seen an overwhelming need in her local community for “mental health” and aims to encourage women to face their future with hope and promise. The goal of SOAR (Sisters Overcoming Adversity and Rising) is to serve 100+ diverse women in Bryan County and the surrounding areas, with psycho-educational materials, and mental health and wellness resources. This symposium will equip them with the necessary tools to live a life of triumph.  

In our society, many women suffer in silence living with some of the most debilitating mental health issues. Some of the mental health concerns that many women deal with include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and more. When gone untreated, these challenges can adversely impact families, relationships, and professional careers. Research has shown that when the proper resources, tools and techniques are made available, many can thrive and experience very satisfying and fulfilling lives.

In recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the event will be held:

Location: Belhaven Event Venue (1000 Belfast River Road, Richmond Hill, GA 31324)

How can you help with our Mental Health and Wellness Symposium?

Great question! We are hoping to partner with your business to:

  • Provide gift donations and/or door prizes to all participants
  • Help contribute towards one of our scholarships to help a woman in need.
  • Financially assist towards tuition, books, and/or lodging, for a woman attending a local university or college.
