Serving Savannah with Creative Catering

From a garage-turned-commercial kitchen in 1991 to a thriving business with bookings already in for 2019, Amy Menzies, owner and co-founder of Creative Catering, is still delivering excellent dining experiences for weddings and casual corporate lunches alike.

Having been in business for 27 years, she is amazed by how much the Internet has changed the process. She now does about half of her wedding catering is for destination brides, which, oddly enough, means she sometimes doesn’t meet the bride until the big day. With all of her catering options online, including menus, linens and dining ware, the entire planning process can take place over email.

Amy is not surprised that Savannah is such a popular choice: “You can go rustic, beachy or formal, all depending on the venue you choose,” she explains. Amy has menu options that are equally flexible, which you can find on her website at http://www.creativecateringga.com/

She has the details down to a science, even as wedding dining evolves from plated dinners into buffets or even heavy hor d’oeuvres. “If I had to choose, I would say go with the hor d’oeuvres,” Amy advises. “Everyone mingles, and they allow for a little more creativity with the display.”

When Amy isn’t working weddings, she is often catering local corporate luncheons, and recently pulled off a meal for 2,000 without a single hitch.

Amy credits her genuine and diligent staff for helping to create a wonderful experience for her clients. She even let us in on a little secret: she has been catering in Savannah for so long that some of her employees are the children her very first waitresses.
