Headed for its ninth annual comic book and gaming extravaganza, Savannah Comic Con, “the only locally owned comic con,” is gearing up for the last weekend of July to be packed with pure pop and geek culture.

Overlooking the Savannah River, the city’s convention center will be hosting the premiere event, welcoming hundreds of vendors, special guests, cosplayers and gamers for friendly competition. Contestants from all over the Southeast will take to the stage to compete. The event will also host special guests, including WWE Hall of Fame and American gold medalist Kurt Angel, comic book artist Bo Hampton and anime voice actors Kyle Phillips and Chris Patton. Expect all things comic book, anime and video game related. Whether you’re a seasoned comic con aficionado or just someone who wants to see what the fuss is about, book your tickets now.

Originally founded in 2011, Savannah  Comic Convention will feature vintage toys,  action figures, comic books and nostalgic merchandise. Also see special guest, Kurt Angler and of course the most enjoyable part of any comic con, the cosplay characters.
