Jamie Deen's Good Food

Savannah’s favorite family has been in the public eye a lot lately, but they haven’t skipped a beat in the kitchen. South sat down with Jamie Deen to discuss his new cookbook, Good Food. What sets this collection of recipes apart from every other cookbook on the shelf? “This is my book that I did with my family and my friends, and I love it,” says Deen. "It is a celebration of family and a real labor of love. Being a daddy has influenced the way he sees food, and it is reflected in his cookbook, as well as his daily life in the kitchen." Also unique to Good Food is a kid’s section, the contribution of Deen's six-year-old son, Jack, who spends a lot of his time in the kitchen with his parents. Jamie was inspired by his mother to start cooking and he hopes that Jack and his youngest son, Matthew, will create memories in the kitchen like he and his brother did. Through these fun and easy recipes in “Rooster’s Kitchen” you’ll create memories in your kitchen, too. “Brooke and I as parents have learned that the more kids touch the food, the more likely they are to eat it,” says Deen. “If they cook it, they’re proud of it.”
