Hauntingly Good Beer

You know to expect the best beer, but their history is guaranteed to sneak up on you.

Whether you’re enjoying its flagship “Swamp Fox IPA,” the Great American Beer Festival gold medal winner “Wild Wacky Wit,” or one of their other 13 beers, all brewed onsite, Moon River Brewing Company is the go-to for a relaxing evening of great beer, excellent food and a good scare.

Wait what?

That’s right, it’s haunted. The building started out in 1821 as a hotel and was later used as a hospital during the worst of Savannah’s yellow fever outbreaks. The historic building has seen more than its fair share of death, and Operations Manager Shaleena Twele can testify that Moon River Brewing Company’s patrons have seen its ghosts.

If this has you sitting on the edge of your seat, you should take a moment out of your dining experience to scout out the basement and the second floor. Definitely have a drink or two first—it’s proven to make a supernatural experience more likely.

If you’re not in it for a spook, a night in the beer garden is a truly enchanting way to enjoy small bites like their new chicken salad sandwich (which, we must say, is really good) and some freshly brewed drafts. And don’t worry, they have assured us that their brewing process is ghost proof.
