7 Ways to Shop Local Deals this Weekend
Start your holiday gifting by shopping local for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday in Savannah.
‘Tis the season for giving! This year it is especially important to think about shopping local when it comes to treating your loved ones (and yourself!) to something special.
Many small businesses are struggling in the midst of the financial burdens of life during a pandemic. Small business is a large part of the Savannah community, which means there are plenty of amazing options, ranging from fashion boutiques of varying styles to specialty stores to honey shops to stores with a mission. Whoever you are shopping for, there is a gift that’s perfect for them somewhere like hidden treasure on the shelves of our local shops.
For the Fashionista:
We love our Bull Street neighbors, Harper Boutique. They (along with their sister-stores Red Clover and Arrowleaf) will be open Black Friday and Small Business Saturday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and are 20% off regular-price items. Be sure to check out the sale racks, too! harpersavannah.com
Edgewater Drive has the trendiest styles, always with a twinge of classic and effortlessly cool. For the shoe enthusiast, stop by Globe Shoe Company. They keep the biggest collection of the latest, high-quality styles. Check them out when you’re strolling down Broughton Street!

For the Festive:
The experience of shopping at Paris Market is a gift in itself—glass jars of brilliantly wrapped candy, a whimsical, yet elegantly decorated Christmas tree, and the signature smells of hand-poured candles (Noël and French Alps are divine holiday scents). For the person who loves cuddling up and reading a book by candlelight or adding new ornaments to their collection, Paris Market has something perfect. Open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

For the Outdoorsman:
Nine Line Apparel has come a long way from tee-shirts; they have an insane range of products (some customizable) that all have a patriotic theme. These gifts certainly have a bit of an outdoorsy slant, so they’re ideal for any guy or gal who loves messing around with some new gear (we all know someone). Right now they’re running a promotion: $25 gift card for every $50 purchase that can be applied immediately. Visit them in-person or at their online store.

For the Life of the Party:
Prime Liquor opened recently in October and is a female-run liquor store located in Twelve Oaks shopping center, and sets the new standard for the liquor shopping experience. Their custom designed store has an extensive selection of customer-curated bottles and wine and cigar humidors. They take custom orders, so be sure to stop by soon to get the perfect gift for the life of the party. They’ll be opening Thanksgiving Day from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Black Friday (with a sale) from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

For the Sweet Tooth:
Capital Bee Company is a sweet tooth heaven and offers a variety of floral honeys. They’re 100% local, as their production facility is based in Savannah along with their Broughton Street storefront. While their honey is sweet, the gift selection is arguably sweeter. Stop in for a treat!
For the Strange:
Perhaps the most eclectic shop in the Starland district, Starland Strange is a mix of ice cream shop-meets-boutique-meets-vintage goods-meets-knick knacks-meets-party. Here, you buy anything from cowboy boots to google-eyed cacti to chocolate-covered frozen bananas. One thing is for sure—you’ll be giving the most unique gift this holiday season.

Something for Everyone:
J. Parker Ltd. is a great spot for the guys and the ladies, and has an assortment of stylish, classic apparel ideal for a wide range of ages. In addition to their high-quality clothing, they also offer gifts. J.Parker is the sort of store that you know you’ll find a little something for everyone. We love the needlepoint gifts (keychains, belts, can coolers, wallets) that represent a wide selection of collegiate logos, dogs, sea critters and more! Check them out on Broughton Street or Plant Riverside District, as well as Twelve Oaks or online.
