A grand celebration of Scottish heritage, this Savannah staple draws thousands as one of the oldest of its kind in the southeast. Participant or audience, the events leave no Braemar Stone unturned: Caber/Sheaf Toss, Scottish Hammer Throw, Open Stone Put, Border Collie Sheepherding, USIR Highland Dancing Southern Regional Championships, and a range of reenactments from the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) including armored combat, “shaking General Oglethorpe’s hand,” and interactive demos on calligraphy, cooking, armoring, metalworking, carpentry, and needlework. Register your Clan or Society, visit Clan booths, but for best of show, leave room for the boon of foodstuffs like neeps and tatties, and haggis and such. Bethesda Academy, Savannah GA.
