Will Zia at the Beach be the Jepson Center's Hottest Event Yet?

Photography, fashion, and jewelry design will collide at the Jepson Center on May 15th. The exhibit "Life's A Beach: Photographs by Martin Parr" will open with a fashion show by renowned Savannah-based jewelry designer, Zia. Curator Courtney McNeil said, "We are delighted to present this fun and engaging exhibition just in time to kick off the summer season." Parr is one of Britain's favorite photographers who creates high impact visual tours of sea sides around the world. His images encompass landscapes, sunbathers and unique qualities of each locale. McNeil added, "By photographing beach-goers around the world, Martin Parr reminds us that our beaches allow people from all walks of life to come together for a temporary respite from the cares of everyday life."

The opening on May 15 will feature exotic multi-cultural fashions designed and produced by Zia Sachedina. The multi-cultural influence of Zia's chic collection comes from Zia himself, who split his childhood between Kenya and the US, while being raised by a Japanese-American mother and an East Indian father. This year celebrates Zia's ten year anniversary. The concept of the show will be "The Four Seasons," presenting winter, spring, summer, and fall looks coupled with Zia's signature exotic jewelry to show women different ways to make a statement with accessories. There will be a VIP pre-party and a champagne reception after the show for all of the patrons to mingle with Zia and the 30 models strutting the runway.

South magazine and South's fashion editor Ashley Borders are proud to be sponsors of the event. Don't miss out on the most exciting, and hottest event of the month.
