Valentine’s Day Gifts from Two Southern Style Stars
Valentine’s Day is less than a week away and whether you are celebrating with a gaggle of girls or spending a romantic evening with your beloved, there’s no better time to treat yourself (or drop hints to your honey).
Allow me to introduce B.Stellar, the bijoux brainchild of Nancy Koen and Misty Incontrera, two southern style stars who are bringing modern simplicity fused with architectural edginess to your jewelry box. Even the brand’s name, B.Stellar, inspires me to be my most fabulous self. This dynamic duo met in Dallas a decade ago, each pursuing a career in the emerging fashion and design industries. They quickly bonded over their similar upbringings and less than memorable days at prep school…Saturday classes, uniforms, and communal bathrooms.
Misty, with a background in fine art, specifically painting, and jewelry design, is the ‘Go-To’ social media and branding guru for creative companies in both Austin and Dallas. Nancy, a true sales maven, hails from Laurel, Mississippi. This Dallas Morning News “Stylemaker” built her noteworthy career by managing the wholesale businesses for brands like James Perse, Lacoste and Puma. She currently works as a regional coordinator for Valentino. Together in 2013, they launched B.Stellar, a passion project and culmination of their love for art, fashion and design.

Take it from this self-proclaimed accessories addict, B.Stellar’s pieces are not only easy to wear, but also great conversation starters. I’ve been stopped no less than five times since I began wearing my B.Stellar necklace, a beautiful free form lava rock on a 14K gold fill chain. Using the natural world as inspiration for her jewelry designs, Misty, a Dallas native says, “The raw stones speak for themselves.” Enchanting stones such as gray lace agate, dalmatian jasper, and peach titanium quartz are anchored in brass or 14K gold hardware. Nancy adds, “There are no two stones alike. You are truly getting a unique, hand-made piece of jewelry.” B.Stellar is currently carried in 30 boutiques across the country and online via a successful e-commerce site.
The brand has become THE jewelry of choice for Dallas’ art and fashion set with several pieces named after Dallas’ most influential and well-heeled women including Terri Provencal, Chandra North, Joyce Goss and Nancy Nasher.
