Transforming Lives Matter

Leading the profession with experience. Serving with compassionate patient care.

Dr. Richard Greco has enjoyed a long and storied career as one of the foremost figures in modern plastic surgery. But it was one particular aspect of his expertise that landed him a spot on the Today Show: the rise of men receiving plastic surgery.

“Although 85% of my facial rejuvenation practice are happy women, there is a new surge of men in my practice,” he said, noting that 15-20 percent of his practice is men. “Males used to basically age gracefully, but now that we’re working longer, living longer and moving into second and third relationships later in life, there is an interest in both surgical and non-surgical techniques of rejuvenation.”

Indeed, statistics from the 2017 Plastic Surgery Statistics Report bear out that assessment, with some 13 percent of procedures done nationwide being on men. These days, men are

enjoying the benefits of plastic surgery with much less stigma than they may have faced in the past, undergoing everything from tummy tucks to augmentation of facial features.
“I’ve done multiple live webinars on cosmetic surgery in men,” said Dr. Greco. “It’s a much more subtle science, because it has to look natural and be very difficult to tell it’s been done.”
