Celebrate the music that made this Georgian famous in downtown Albany. Enjoy a free “concert” at night when the plaza lights up, and Ray’s music is played. Stay a while and lounge on one of the piano key benches surrounding the life-size bronze sculpture of Ray sitting at his baby grand piano. Fun fact: on March 7, 1979, Ray serenaded lawmakers with “Georgia on My Mind,” his rendition of which was named the official state song by law a month later.
