The Cuthbert House Inn

While in Beaufort, staying at a historical inn is the perfect way to experience the quaint town. The Cuthbert House Inn  was built in 1790 and was once owned by General Saxton who hosted a variety of Civil War soldiers including General Sherman for an evening. Today, the Inn is one of the premier locations to lay your head for a night in beautiful Beaufort. Be sure to stay in the Eastlake Suite! Here you’ll find a black marble fireplace where Union soldiers carved their names and hometowns! If the house didn’t take you back in time, this fireplace surely will.
