We can’t believe the South’s Greatest Kids Contest has already seen its second year come and go. The submissions arrived again in droves, our mailbox overflowing with undeniable cuteness and charm. Now South readers have spoken, and these particular tots are taking home the top ranks for South’s Greatest Kid. We searched the city for the most fun places to play, shop, eat and stay with your favorite kid and found that Savannah certainly isn’t short on places to explore your inner child.

Savannah Children’s Museum

New to Savannah this spring, younger children can enjoy the Exploration Station, an outdoor two-story interactive exhibition focusing on motor skills at the new Coastal Heritage Society attraction. 655 Louisville Road; 912.651.4292; savannahchildrensmuseum.org

Oatland Island Wildlife Center

Take a walk around the trails at Oatland Island to see a variety of birds of prey, wild cats and coastal birds at the Wetland Aviary. On December 8 parents can take advantage of the Island’s annual “Drop ’n Shop,” a mini-camp that allows parents to round up the rest of the Christmas gifts. 711 Sandtown Road; 912.395.1212; oatlandisland.org

ArtZeum at Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center

Adults and kids both can enjoy the art at Savannah’s largest and oldest museum. The ArtZeum holds a host of interactive exhibitions, including the magnet wall and architectural building blocks for your little DaVinci. 207 West York street; 912.790.8802; telfair.org/learn/artzeum
