Savannah Food Truck Festival Smashing Success

Hundreds packed Emmet Park as it hosted 17 different food trucks for the annual Savannah Food Truck Festival

Created in 2014 by Ryan Giannoni, the Food Truck Festival was designed to broaden people's horizons on the mobile food industry and help raise money for three different nonprofit associations: Food Truck Philanthropy, Savannah Downtown Business Association, and Savannah Children's Choir

With options ranging from Cuban sandwiches to chicken nuggets and funnel cake, the festival had something for everyone. The waiting lines boasted the success of the different varieties as well. People could be seen waiting for up to an hour and a half long for different food options, but that didn't stop them from digging in when their order finally arrived. People enjoyed the festival so much that they have already posted on the Savannah Food Truck Festival's Facebook page they are waiting on the next one.

Locals as well as visitors poured into the festival to engage in a variety of activities and browse different vendor booths. The festival hosted a yoga session that began at 11 am, along with a cornhole tournament, and music to be heard throughout the park. Matching the provided entertainment, certain trucks could be seen giving their own flair of eccentricity to waiting customers. Men dressed up in scary clown costumes hopped aboard the roof of their food truck to do different give outs and grab people's attention. It was certainly well accepted by the mass as their line ranged all the way to the back of the park.

The festival was more than anyone could have imagined, and proved the city wants food trucks to not just be an occasional sighting, but have a permanent home here in Savannah.
