Salt Island Fish & Beer

Salty traditions create the perfect beach experience.
Restaurateurs Eric and Emily Liebtag are no stranger to salty success. With more than 20 years of culinary experience—including Eric attending culinary school in London—it was only natural for them to end up creating Salt Island Fish and Beer, a New American Beach food hub with a focus on craft beer and local ingredients. With a heavy influence from salt in the air, in their drinks, and on their food—their name derives from the Euchee Tribe’s word for “salt,” which was “Tybee”—they invent new flavors or modernizing traditions, while still having fun with their food. This inventive approach includes dishes such as sesame ginger salmon, pan roasted snapper, and a Salt Island burger. But the delight doesn’t stop there. Located right in the heart of Tybee Island, the restaurant and it’s quaint atmosphere allow for the Island’s salty way of life to seep in, though the door and through the food, to create the perfect beach experience.
