In 1898, German immigrant Samuel Bernstein opened a restaurant supply store on Congress Street.
In 1969, Stephen Bernstein joined his family in the business to help with day-to-day operations. In 1971, the younger Bernstein was ready to start his own business and Restaurant Equipment Co. of Savannah was born.
Bernstein retired in 2020 and five long-time employees took up the helm, prepared to further the success already garnered.
Known by its tagline “Eat Out, It’s Good For Us,” this employee-owned company serves local restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs, schools, and military facilities with customized commercial kitchen solutions for all their food service needs.
With an extensive inventory of top-notch equipment, ranging from commercial stoves and refrigeration units to cookware and utensils, they cater to every aspect of the restaurant business.
Open to the public, their knowledgeable staff offers expert guidance, ensuring customers find the perfect solutions to meet their specific needs.
In an effort to expand their offerings to a wider market, Restaurant Equipment Co. of Savannah opened a second location in Bluffton, SC in early April, 2023, and look forward to serving the Lowcountry!
