With the start of its inaugural season right around the corner, the Savannah Ghost Pirate’s hockey team is hard at work preparing for its first game in October. With 4,300 season ticket passes already sold, the Pirates recently revealed their mascot “Davy” at Memorial Children’s Hospital as a part of a larger effort to develop their fanbase through community outreach efforts. The Pirates are a proud East Coast Hockey League affiliate team of the National Hockey League’s Las Vegas Golden Knights. The Knights are known for their pre-game hype shows with special lighting and computer graphic effects. The Pirates are currently in the process of creating a supercharged fan experience at their home turf, Savannah’s Enmarket Arena, which seats over 9,000 people.
“We intend on maximizing every bit of technology that’s available to us in this building to really give a top-level major league experience,” Director of Community Outreach Bryan Sklover said. “We’re going to have the best game presentation in minor league sports and better than some NHL teams.”
