On Lock Down with District Attorney Meg Heap

District Attorney Meg Heap is on a mission to get criminals off the streets and behind bars.

What better location to shoot our story on District Attorney Meg Heap than the old city jail?

South magazine was fortunate enough to find Heap readily available after a law enforcement officer was called to duty and was suddenly unavailable for the shoot.  Heap was game and after securing the necessary paperwork, South Magazine entered the abandoned facility.

The rusty iron bars and small dark cell created the effective backdrop for Heap.  The image sends a clear message: justice is swift and those jail cell doors will close with a loud ‘clank’.

Working with new city officials, Heap heads into her second term with a clear vision of getting violent criminals off the streets…quickly.  Check out the June/July issue of South Magazine for the full story.
