“Monday 5 Things”™….. Today …..

Uncharacteristically sleeping in this weekend, I hadn’t felt this good in weeks, quite possibly months. Much needed rest has been well taken, literally and figuratively, cherished for the gift it is. A renewed focus of late on each ‘today’, resolute to not lose sight of what is right in front of me. To be fully engaged in the moment. Determined to take my thoughts and actions captive, decisive, relevant, and meaningful. M5T is focused on Today.

 1. Today is here

It’s the beginning of a new day. It’s your day. A fresh blank canvas waiting to be colored, shaped, illuminated, and shared with those around you. Today is the surest thing you have.

2. Today you have a choice

Use it as you please, embracing all that the day brings… or waste it as you please. It’s your choice. You can choose to focus on the negative of what might or might not happen, or you can choose to focus on the positives of what can be, what should be. You can choose to focus on your blessings and those in your life. Be grateful, be kind. Be yourself.

3. Today is not yesterday

Yesterday ended last night. You can let go of hurts, pain, disappointments, and failures. Finish today what you didn’t yesterday. Use yesterday to motivate you today. Own this moment… right now. Value yourself and your time. Cherish whatever is in front of you… today.

4. Today is not tomorrow

Today will be gone soon enough. You can complete what you started. You can improve… your perspective, your mindset, and your sense of urgency. Prepare for tomorrow, but today is worthy of your full attention. Breath in the moment, put your doubts away, confront your fears, and find a pathway out of your comfort zone.

5. Today is yours to live

Live to care. Live to love. Live to laugh, to cry, to dance, to sing. Live to create, to learn. Live to do something unexpected. Live to soar, to dream. Just live. Today.

Here’s to your today. Simply Today.
