“Monday 5 Things”™ ….. Of Lists …..

I love this time of year, if only because we are about to start a new year. I’m a planner by nature. A strategist by design. As such, I make lists. Copious amounts of lists; either in my head, in notebooks, or in files. With one week left in 2022, in between travel, family, friends, food, and libations, I have once again begun to make lists to start 2023. This morning’s M5T lists some of my lists. What’s on yours?

1. A list of who

A list of who showed me compassion and kindness. Who taught me things. Who should I thank. Who have I hurt and need to apologize to. Who has hurt me, and I need to forgive. Who I should make more time for.

2. A list of elimination

A list of excuses, procrastinations, comfort zones, bad habits, and negative thoughts that have held me back from things I want to achieve this year. Then a list of ways to eliminate these from my life and begin 2023 at full pace.

3. A list of thankfulness

What and who brought me joy. What and who gave me peace. What and who inspired me. What do I need to show more appreciation for. For the blessings of those who love me despite my failings. For my life. For redemption and salvation. For freewill. For the opportunity to create.

4. A list of excitement

What do I find beautiful. What makes me relax. What music makes me want to sing at the top of my lungs in my car. What makes me laugh. What makes my heart race. What do I want to indulge in, to luxuriate in, to cherish.

5. A list of changes

What I should change. What will I refuse to change. A list of possibilities for the coming year. What toxic habits and people need to be changed. What opportunities should I explore. What goals, objectives, dreams, and realities should I recommit to and focus on. Where do I need to spend my time to make these changes in the New Year.

I hope you had a blessed time with your family and friends this weekend. Here’s to a week of the whatever and whomever is on your lists.
