WHAT WAS YOUR JOURNEY INTO DENTISTRY?

Dr. Robert Miller: After graduating from UGA in 1986, I worked in the banking and chemical sales fields. I always felt that my real passion was in dentistry. At the age of 29, I went back to school for two years of prerequisites and qualified for admissions to Temple University Dental School. In 1999, I graduated and moved home to Savannah to begin my career and start my own dental practice. My first office was three operatories and four employees. Today, Miller Dental Group has grown to 15 operatories and 25 employees with two locations.

IF YOU WERE STANDING IN FRONT OF A CROWD, WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU LEAVE THEM WITH?

Dr. Miles Yarbrough: If shame or embarrassment is what is keeping you from addressing your dental needs, don’t let it stop you. Everyone goes through hard times and no one is perfect. Our job as dentists is not to judge, but to help ‘right the ship’ and help you to gain your confidence back.

“I AM THE KIND OF DENTIST WHO ALWAYS…”

Dr. Julie Howard: …takes the time to really listen to my patients and build my relationships with them in order to establish trust. I want them to know that I care about them, as a person, and their oral health.

DEFINING MOMENTS

Dr. Miles Yarbrough: I knew I had made the right decision in dentistry when patients voiced their gratitude for the dental work we have completed – whether it is getting them out of pain, delivering on their cosmetic goals or just having a pain-free appointment. I have been blessed to find a career that I truly love, and I enjoy going to work every day.

NEWEST, LATEST AND GREATEST

Dr. Micah Spivey: The invention of 3D printers and digital scanners has greatly improved dentistry not only for the practitioner but for the patient, as well. Scanners reduce the amount of treatment time and provides patients with more accurate crowns and bridges. 3D printers give dentists the opportunity to fabricate night guards, bleaching trays and a multitude of other appliances in-office at the patients’ convenience.
