Martinis on a Mission

Four years ago, my little sister, Kimmy, called me and said, "I have MS." I was instantly crushed…and could only imagine how she felt. However, her strength and courage over the years has inspired me to do something to help her, and others who are dealing with this horrible disease and have it MUCH worse than she does. She had the benefit of getting diagnosed early on, being in great physical shape and 29 years-old. Others, are not as lucky. Thousands of people in Georgia alone are living with MS.

I dedicate the first 7 months of every year since my sister’s diagnosis to raising money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Georgia Chapter and the MS Walk Savannah. Two years ago I created the My MS Savannah social media campaign as a sort of telethon to give businesses the recognition they deserve for supporting our cause and to also raise awareness about the disease and the walk. Many people don’t know what MS is! In two years, we’ve raised close to $50,000 and Team WTOC has raised the 2nd most in the State of Georgia.

Walk MS is a day that connects friends, families, and coworkers. JOIN our TEAM…TEAM WTOC.  Each step we take brings us closer to a world free of MS. You can learn more…and help us reach our goal THIS THURSDAY…at 5:30pm…at the Martinis at the Mansion event at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. A wonderful event hosted by amazing peoples supporting a cause so personal to so many people.
