It’s All In the Bag
Who knows packs better than the military? Check out these three bags designed by Southern based, military-owned companies.
“The human body is an interesting thing. The more you use it, the better it gets. That’s not true about anything else. It’s rewarding to encourage more people to do that.”
– Jason McCarthy, GORUCK founder
GORUCK was founded in 2008 by Jason and Emily McCarthy, then-members of the Special Forces and CIA, respectively. Since then, this Southern company has exploded into a nationally recognized lifestyle brand composed of the rucksack itself (and accompanying products) and the GORUCK challenge–an event led by decorated combat veterans of Special Forces that empowers participants through strength and team-building lessons.
How it works: The rucksack was designed as a way to bridge military and civilian life; to join the positive lessons of empowerment, teambuilding and achievement through hard work to create healthy bodies and minds. It’s easy: add as little or as much weight as you like–10-, 20-, and 30-pound Ruck Plates– and hit the road (or trail.) Wear it on a walk, at your desk, on your commute. Bring your dog or your friends along, too. Use the detachable Training Sternum Strap to better disperse heavy loads. The added lumbar padding and waterproof material (a new blend) reduces friction and increases comfort while carrying the rucksack. Hooks, loops, straps and MOLLE webbing are all optimized in the third and latest version of the Rucker.
Nine Line Apparel:
The Everyday Carry (EDC) Pack is NineLine’s most casual option but is extremely versatile, with highly segmented pockets for organization–not to mention hydration bladder compatible. Buying from Nine Line supports a community of patriotism, camaraderie and philanthropy.
