Malcom Tully, Wormsloe Plantation, Savannah, GA

A breathtaking avenue sheltered by live oaks and Spanish moss leads to the tabby ruins of Wormsloe, the colonial estate of Noble Jones (1702–1775). Jones was a humble carpenter who arrived in Georgia in 1733 with James Oglethorpe and the first group of settlers from England. Wormsloe’s tabby ruin is the oldest standing structure in Savannah. @tullyimages

Andy Young, The Underground Railroad

Production on the limited series “The Underground Railroad” faced a significant setback due to the coronavirus, forcing a halt with just three days of filming remaining. The series, which extensively filmed throughout Georgia, spanned 116 days to reach its completion, showcasing both the dedication of the cast and crew and the challenges posed by the pandemic.

SCAD is Now the Place of Film Magic

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) celebrates a major leap with the debut of its Hollywood backlot at Savannah Film Studios. As Phase One of an 11-acre, three-phase expansion, this project positions SCAD as a leading film studio complex among universities nationwide. Boasting new soundstages, design shops, and a cutting-edge LED volume, it aligns with Georgia’s rise as the “new Hollywood.” The backlot offers versatile filming locations for students, symbolized by a Wall Street-style bank in Phase One. Scheduled for Fall 2024, Phase Two will bring the New York Financial district facades, showcasing SCAD’s commitment to fostering student talent for the evolving film industry.
