Forsyth Park fountain goes green for St. Patrick's Day

The St. Patrick’s Day festivities have officially began with the ceremonial greening of the fountain at Forsyth Park, Friday, March 13. Parade Marshall Hugh Coleman and his entourage of dignitaries circled the fountain, to give it an Irish facelift.

All fountains in downtown Savannah are dyed green during the St. Patrick’s season, but the ceremony held in Forsyth Park is the most popular  – and always draws a crowed. This year, more than 500 spectators gathered to watch the historical event, currently in it’s 31st year.
