One of the top attractions of the city, River Street boasts some of the greatest scenes of Savannah. With more than 75 local boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and pubs along the scenic stone street, River Street has something for everybody.
Located along the Savannah River, the celebrated stretch offers a view of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge as well as many of the ships that pass through the Southern ports. Whether you want to explore the historic aspects of the street, which used to house cotton warehouses, or go for a cruise on the Savannah Riverboat, you can spend the entire day on River Street. Grab brunch at a local restaurant and soak up the scenery with a beverage in hand. Tour a plethora of Southern boutiques and local artists’ galleries where scenes of the Lowcountry are celebrated.
Head to one of the many rooftop bars like Rocks on the River and sip on an artfully crafted cocktail while taking in the beautiful and unique view of the Savannah River and Talmadge bridge. For a more sweet affair, try one of Savannah Candy Kitchen’s famous pralines at one of their two shops located along the stretch.
During march, the street is covered in green as the city of Savannah celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, which is one of the biggest parties of the year for the city. River Street offers one of the best spots in the city to celebrate the elaborate holiday in Savannah.
