Early Voting in Chatham County: Where, When & What to Know

While controversy surrounds the voting process this year, there are actually more options than ever for voters to cast a ballot. South has the latest list of updated locations for early voting and absentee ballot drop-boxes.

hatham County Board of Registrars has been working hard to ensure the voting process in as comprehensive and inclusive as possible for the 2020 general election, as well as for all of the other local positions up for election this year. Voting anxiety is rippling across the country through conversations about health and safety protocols and voter fraud; however, authorities are making efforts to debunk rumors and misinformation surrounding the voting process. “We have weekend voting. We are doing more locations and more hours for people to vote during the early voting period,” said Colin McRae, Chatham Board of Registrars Chair.

While there is more flexibility than ever, voters should be confident that the process is as legitimate as ever. Now, voters have publicized and plentiful alternative options to cast a vote other than election day, which is Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

Voters are encouraged to adhere to public health mandates when voting in-person. Over the past week, there was confusion at the Savannah Civic Center when someone had mistaken the voting line for the COVID-19 testing line. The Civic Center is also a virus testing site, so visitors should be aware of signage and directional cues when voting.

EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING:

OCTOBER 12, 2020 – OCTOBER 30, 2020 (Monday – Friday)
Any eligible registered Chatham County voter desiring to vote in advance during this period may do so in-person. No reason is required.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY VOTING:

OCTOBER 24, 2020 – OCTOBER 25, 2020
