Family Medicine of Pooler was established in 2010 and became the first direct primary care (DPC) medical practice in Savannah, Ga., in 2017. For Christi Ghaleb, M.D. and Pete Ghaleb, M.D., that ultimately means they get to spend more time with their patients without letting insurance companies get in the way. They love it, their patients love it, and they believe you will love it too!

APPROACH

We are a direct primary care practice, which essentially means we will not let insurance get between us and our patients. As a result, we have more time to listen to our patients and discuss with them what their health goals are and the best way to get there.

WHEN AND WHY

We chose to specialize in family medicine when we were in medical school because we enjoy treating the whole family.

OUTSTANDING MOMENT

We practice family medicine using a direct primary care model, so we have the ability to treat patients regardless of their insurance status. We do this by charging a low monthly fee, allowing the physician to spend more time with each patient, which means we can use that time to really listen to our patients and come up with the best possible treatment options.

OUTSTANDING PERSON

Both of our dads are physicians that have been great role models. They also act as great sounding boards.

OUTSTANDING TECHNOLOGY

Communication and a strong doctor-patient relationship has always been the backbone of Family Medicine. Thanks to our integration of various technologies into our practice, our patients always have a direct line of communication with their physician via text, webcam, email, etc., which has only strengthened that relationship.

HOBBIES + PASSIONS

In our down time, we enjoy off-roading in our vehicles aptly named ‘Beauty and The Beast’. We have been told that ‘Beauty’ fits Dr. Christi’s personality since she is the face of the practice, always showing kindness and compassion when providing medical care to patients. ‘The Beast’ better represents Dr. Pete as the voice of the practice, who consistently advocates for lower and transparent healthcare pricing.
