Debellation Brewing Company: The Place Of Norsemen’s Ale
The founders of Debellation Brewing Company trace their name and lineage back to Norway by way of England and Ireland.
Like the Norse Vikings before them in their family lineage, veteran-owned Debellation Brewing Company wants to leave its mark on the world with their beers. Tucked in off exit 90 on I-95 in Richmond Hill, Debellation Brewing welcomes anyone wanting to celebrate their victories in the way Ragnar Lothbrok and Leif Erikson did centuries ago.
“I thought, what a fun concept to bring Viking to the Savannah area because there’s none of that here,” said owner Dave Goodell of his brewery which offers a unique style of beer crafting unfamiliar to the Coastal Empire when it opened in 2021.
Fans of Norse mythology will recognize names of their drinks: The Fenrir Red Irish Ale, named after a wolf and the son of Loki; and Frigg’s Apple Ale, named after the queen of Asgard, and also an ale made the same way it was in the Middle Ages, (complete with all the ingredients) the Viking Sahti.
Expansion plans are underway to open an upper observation deck to the taproom add an outdoor stage, pub patio and more. “We are so proud to be able to make this a venue you love coming to with your family and friends,” said Goodell. “A lot of breweries… [have] a whole bunch of IPAs and sours…. We want to be different and brew things you don’t find anywhere else,” said Goodell. One of their most popular creations, the spicy garlic pickle ale, is an adventurous creation those with a warrior’s bravery should certainly enjoy. So grab a pint or two, and stay for the food trucks, trivia, and the live music. Skål!
