Q+A

Q: What is your favorite part of Bluffton and the Lowcountry?

A: I love the small-town feel of Bluffton and the Lowcountry. When I go out to a restaurant, store, or event – I always know someone. And I love the way the community here always comes together in good times and bad. Bluffton is truly a magical place. 

Q: How long have you lived here?

A: I grew up on Hilton Head Island and have lived in the area on and off since 1982. I am a Hilton Head High School alumna, University of South Carolina graduate with a degree in Environmental Geography. Go Gamecocks!

Q: How long have you been working in the hospitality industry?

A: I have been in food and beverage almost my entire life. Both of my parents owned restaurants and bars, so I have worked in the field as a server, bartender, event planner and at another distillery for several years as the general manager and account manager. My husband and I also owned and operated a food truck for a few years. So, proudly, this is very much part of who I am.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: Meeting new people every day and telling the stories of our amazing brands. There are so many stories! It is so interesting how every aspect of Burnt Church Distillery, including the interior and exterior design of the building, has a real story to tell. We share those through interactive info cards when you purchase a product, inside The Study, and online.

Q: What is your favorite Burnt Church Distillery spirit or cocktail?

A: My favorite spirit is Amethyst. Of course, as I am the Brand Ambassador for Amethyst! I really appreciate the option of a non-alcoholic spirit choice when going out or staying home with friends, and family. My other favorite BCD spirit is Palmer’s Stretch Rye Whiskey. I just love the smokey hint and smooth taste it has, and it makes great cocktails. My favorite cocktail: Palmers Passion!
