Ever wonder what success sounds like? Atlanta-born, Charleston-based twenty-something CEO Helen Hall would say it’s the sound of a blender liquefying the most important meal of the day. With a blender, Hall has turned a $300 investment into a $15 million company.

Hall’s is the ultimate breakup revenge story. “After college, I moved to Charleston,” she pauses and sighs, “for a boy. It didn’t work out.” But suddenly, everything else did. She consulted a doctor about dropping the 30 pounds she had gained at school. The doctor helped her learn healthier eating habits – combatting those late-night cravings and yo-yo diets that so many people struggle with. She became a personal trainer and nutrition enthusiast. And Blender Bombs was born.

Steve Jobs wore the same outfit every day so he could channel his creative energy into his work. Hall has packaged the same mentality of success into a 150-calorie ball of seeds, nuts and superfoods. The “blender bomb” is the base of a smoothie that contains every single nutrient the body needs to be properly fueled for the day. That way, Blender Bomb customers don’t have to worry about what they’re eating – they can channel all of their energy into achieving their goals. Hall stresses that it’s not about feeding your body, it’s about fueling it.

Hall is a firm believer that emotional wellness is an important part of maintaining overall health. A daily routine helps reduce the stress and anxiety that can accompany mealtime, where many seek out a “fad” diet. “People can fall into an eating disorder from total restrictions. Diet culture fosters negative self-image, which can spiral like a mind trap. For us, food is not the enemy – the only rule is to add more plants to your diet.” Hall says the solution is to free yourself from that stress. “The top two testimonials we receive are, one: people talking about how genuinely full they feel and two: people telling us they lost weight. It’s not a weight-loss product, but it shows how our philosophy works to help people live a healthy lifestyle.” (Continued)
