Beware Of FOMA
Don't miss out on any of our Top Choice Events going on this weekend
Your plan of attack to not miss out on any of our Top Choice Events going on this weekend.
October is filled with events and everyone is experiencing a little fear of missing out (or FOMO) but not to worry! Here at South we’ve devised a way for you to get your fill of Fall Festivals –and maybe even a pumpkin or two.
1. Prioritize. Decide which festivals are most important to you.
I know you can tell I’m all about the pumpkin patch but I know that’s not for everyone. Some people have a soft spot for Daschunds in which case you won’t want to miss the Weiner Dog Races at Morrell Park on Saturday morning as a part of Oktoberfest’s fun filled weekend.
2. Decide how far you’re willing to go for some fall fun.
Awesome things are happening all across the Lowcountry. The closest Pumpkin Patch to Downtown Savannah is 45 minutes away at Madrac Farms in Rincon, Georgia, while Picnic in the Park on Sunday afternoon is a short walk to Forsyth Park, basket in hand.
3. Make a list or itinerary.
I’ll be the first to admit. list making is not one of my favorite activities but it’ll have to happen. Filling your calendar with October’s many events may become tiresome, so an easy cheat might be printing off our post of the Top Choice Events that we post weekly. First on our list for the weekend are Oktoberfest and First Friday Fireworks tonight on River Street.
4. Grab some cash.
While most Fall Festivals are free and open to the public, not all of them are. The Fall Festival at Madrac Farms’ General Admission is $7.00 per person –pumpkins are not included. Oktoberfest’s events are free, but if you want to be able to enjoy food and drink with German flair, you’ll have to open your wallet.
5. Make sure you invite your friends!
All of the Top Choice events are family friendly and expecting a crowd. Gather up your loved ones and get outside to enjoy all the happenings on the Creative Coast.
Only you can prevent FOMO. Best of Luck!
