One of our most beloved mascots, University of Georgia Bulldogs Mascot UGA X aka Que, passed away peacefully at his home in Savannah early Tuesday morning. Uga may have been named the nation’s greatest mascot by Sports Illustrated but South magazine has always recognized this incredible canine’s star power. In Spring of 2022 we were honored to present our third Uga cover, taking a look at the day in the life of this power pup. He will be missed.

Continuing the family legacy, the mantle of handling and caring for UGA’s mascot passed from father to son in 2007. The first floor of their home – with direct access to the backyard – belongs to Uga, leaving the rest to Charles, Wendy, and Cecil Seiler.

The original pewter bowl Seiler’s mother used to feed all the dogs since the 1950s.
