Ain't Bad Magazine
The Slow-Moving World of Founders Taylor Curry and Carson Sanders
Photographers and magazine publishers Taylor Curry and Carson Sanders are young, hip and insightful, but are strikingly past-focused, reverent of the way things were (and maybe should still be). Their co-created magazine, Aint-Bad, and their art and lifestyles take from the present—not to supplant it, but to serve the past: the old way is the good way. Aint-Bad is a sort of oxymoron, a slang label for a classical fine-arts journal.
Curry and Sanders produced 1,500 copies of the latest issue—each page is hand-numbered. Both are particularly proud of the Aint-Bad sleek and sophisticated paper version. “Smell it,” Taylor instructs. “That’s all ink.”
