Bike Skidaway Trails

Head 30 minutes southeast of Savannah to Skidaway Island State Park to experience maritime forests and salt-marsh habitats where you might spy deer, fiddler crabs, egrets and possibly migrating birds, such as painted buntings.

Face your Fears

In bouldering—the untethered cousin of rock climbing—all you need to play is a pair of climbing shoes, which Savannah Climbing Coop in the city’s Metropolitan neighborhood has for rent, making the sport accessible to anyone with interest. The gym has between 45 to 60 problems, aka paths on the wall that require three to seven moves to climb, with enough beginner-friendly options labeled fun and easy to keep a first-timer busy for at least an hour or two. 912.495.8010
