5 Things You Need to Know About Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini is country music’s new sweetheart. She is breaking records and taking names in Nashville, and we are lucky to have her perform right here at the Savannah Civic Center on April 7. Before you see her on stage, here’s a little about country’s rising star.

1. She is a True Southern Belle

Ballerini is a down-home Southern girl. Born in Mascot, TN and raised on a farm outside of Knoxville, this country girl is the real deal.

2. She's No Stranger to Nashville

Kelsea moved to Nashville to pursue music at the ripe age of 15. She signed a writing contract at 19 and released her first EP at age 20.

3. She Wrote her first song at age 12

As a last-minute mother’s day present, Kelsea wrote a song called “Oh Mama” at the age of 12. Her mama loved it so much she cried.

4. She’s already making history

Last year, Kelsea’s debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart. She’s the first female artist to do this since 2006 when Carrie Underwood reached No.1 with “Jesus Take the Wheel.” She’s only the 11th woman to ever accomplish this feat!

5. She’s already made her Opry debut

It takes some artists years to make it to the hallowed Opry stage, but Kelsea made her Opry debut in February of 2016 with her hit single “Love Me Like You Mean It.”
