Mary Kay Andrews Beach Town Book Signing
Over three hundred book lovers arrived dressed in their best beach attire to the Brice Hotel on May 18th for the opportunity to meet New York Times best-selling author, Mary Kay Andrews and get an autographed copy of her newest novel entitled, Beach Town. As a part-time resident of Savannah, Mary has expanded her MKA brand to include a collection of vacation rental homes on Tybee Island, Georgia along with a vintage booth that resides at the Seaside Sisters gift shop on the Island. The University of Georgia graduate now has 23 titles to her name and has always been inspired to write about her own interests; including, hunting for junk at flea markets and antique stores, which is demonstrated by the Savannah antique dealers that appear as characters in such novels as Savannah Blues and Savannah Breeze.
Fans of the national celebrity quickly RSVP'd to the invitation from Scott West and Savannah VIP Events to attend the special girls' night out event sponsored by South Magazine and enjoyed an evening of networking with powerful new friends white enjoying delicious offerings from Marche' de Macarons, Sisters of the New South and the students from the class of Dr. Kris Ryan from the culinary program at Virginia College.
Crystal Higgins, event coordinator at Joe's Homemade Cafe and Bakery won a raffle drawing to be transported to the Red Carpet event in a sleek, new party bus donated by Hollis Johnson with Above and Beyond Limo Service, who drove the group of ladies to the hotel in true Savannah style.
Mary Kay Andrews said a heartfelt thank you to the guests and sponsors and posed for several selfies with the group before retiring with her team for the evening. Mary had just one night to spend in the Hostess City before departing on a 26-city national tour to promote Beach Town, which according to Cnn.com, had already made the Top 20 Beach Read List from the editors at Amazon before even hitting the shelves.
