To this organization, “heroes” not only refers to heroes in the military, but to heroes here at home, too. Every time an animal in need is paired with a hero, two lives are saved.

This time, "vets" refers to "veterinarians," as the SD Gunner Fund teamed up with the Savannah Kennel Club to provide animal healthcare services to military and first responders' furry friends, because pets are heroes, too.
