Sea Salt & Sugar
A simple, safe, serene nail bar.
Many people avoid getting manicures and pedicures because of concerns with cleanliness and the use of toxic polishes and chemical-laden cleaners. Sea Salt & Sugar was conceived on the notion that wellness and beauty should be synonymous. After more than a year of planning, Lindsay Sammons, Suzanne Anderson and Christy Harpring have opened a beautifully appointed nail bar featuring a state-of-the-art ventilation system, air cleansing plants, and recycled cork as part of the décor, to ensure a safe and healthy sanctuary for nail services and retail products.
“We are an eight free salon, meaning our polishes are free from the eight most frequent toxins,” says Harpring. “What you put on your body is just as important as what put in it. No one should have to worry about the toxic hangover from formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and toluene, the chemicals found in most conventional polishes.”
From a quick polish change (called a Sugar Rush), which takes about 15 minutes to a full luxury pedicure (the Divinity Pedicure) that takes approximately one hour, Sea Salt & Sugar’s innovative pampering services allow you to relax from start to finish. All services involving Sugar Scrubs (made in-house) allow you to choose your flavor of sugar and which essential oils you want in the lotion that follows.
“We believe in giving the best experience without compromising the safety of our clients and we love that our mission gives our employees a safe place to work as well, as toxic chemicals are detrimental to their health,” says Anderson.
