The Salvation Army Savannah is kicking off their annual holiday season Red Kettle Campaign on November 14, 2019. They announced an ambitious fundraising goal for this campaign that will allow The Salvation Army to provide desperately needed food and lodging to people in need in our region year-round.
The Salvation Army is always in need of volunteers to ring the kettles at partner locations during the holiday season. Interested participants can also join the challenge “Champion of the Bells” where their group competes to see who can raise the most money ringing the bell.
One of the best ways to help during the Red Kettle Campaign is to sign up as a group for a week of volunteering. Volunteer shifts are 8 hours a day with hours from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Saturday (6 days). There are approximately 70 opportunities for volunteer groups to take a week of kettle ringing. The Salvation Army offers great PR opportunities to promote businesses that volunteer for week-long shifts. While volunteering, businesses can wear their uniforms or company logo and can get free promotion just by ringing a bell. This is a great opportunity to get employees engaged in with business promotion. Flexible volunteer opportunities are available for scheduling at www.redkettlevolunteer.org or contact Volunteer Coordinator Kayla Lentz at firstname.lastname@example.org or 912-704-6371. Individuals interested in signing their group up to ring the kettle for a week, please contact Kayla Lentz or Aaron Odum at email@example.com or at 904-982-4751
