The Hipster Hound, a full-service dog daycare in Savannah, has opened its second location and will host a Grand Opening event on Saturday, January 12 from Noon to 3 p.m. Located at 1 Diamond Causeway, Unit 13, the new space offers a large retail store complete with grooming, self-serve dog wash and doggy daycare services. The public is invited to attend the event, which will include complimentary food and drink, as well as a pet adoption opportunity. Free sample treats for pets will also be available.
“Different rescues will be on hand with adoptable dogs, so if you’re looking to add to your family, come by and celebrate our Grand Opening event with us, and take home your new fur baby,” says Tonya Rintye, co-owner of The Hipster Hound.
In the New Year, The Hipster Hound is offering several new opportunities, open to the public. Beginning January 12, Beginner Dog Training Classes will be provided for dogs five months and older, with or without prior training. Dogs will learn basic manners, such as no leash pulling or jumping on guests. The one-hour classes are $100. In addition, Pet CPR and First Aid Certification Training is offered to the general public and veterinary staff, on location or at a destination of the customer’s choice.
Also in the New Year, on the second Saturday of each month from Noon - 4 p.m., veterinary clinics will be held at The Hipster Hound’s new location with Dr. Beth Martin of Martin Mobile Vet Services. Vet clinics allow pet owners one-on-one time with a veterinarian for nutritional advice, heartworm testing, microchip services and updated vaccinations.
