Held annually on the fourth Saturday in August, Summerfest has been recognized at the South Carolina Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Travel as the Most Outstanding Festival of the Year in a community between 5,000 and 15,000, by the Southeast Tourism Society for its Top 20 Events calendar and by the Olde English District honored as its Attraction of the 1996 Year.
Hosted by the Greater York Chamber of Commerce and the City of York, the 35th Summerfest is scheduled for Saturday, August 25 2018 in Historic York, South Carolina from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Summerfest Friday evening August 24th features
“Flashback” from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. food and a beer garden available for purchase.
A Juried Craft and Food festival featuring only handmade crafts and an array of delicious foods over 120 craft/art vendors and food vendors will be located in the center of York’s business district. Downtown businesses, non-profit agencies, and other organizations will be on hand to share information about their products and services. Featured attractions include, one of the largest regional car shows; sports tournaments in golf and races of 10K, 5K, and Fun Runs; musical entertainment located at two stages; Healthy Heart Bash
with over 30 separate medical services for all ages and groups, children’s activities which includes rides, games, face painting, coloring contest, giant scale model airplane fly-in, 4-H petting zoo, inflatables, climbing wall bungee jump all scale slide.
