Join Oatland Island Wildlife Center on Saturday, August 19th for a special digital planetarium show about the upcoming Solar Eclipse. This educational program is offered 5 times 10:30; 11:30; 1:00; 2:00 and 3:00. Each program thirty minutes long and will include why eclipses occur, safety viewing tips and a complimentary pair of eclipse viewing lenses. Sign up online or by calling 912-395-1517. The program is $8 for adults and $6 for children and includes admission to the wildlife center.
Oatland Island Wildlife Center is a unit of the Savannah-Chatham County School System and serves as a field study site for students throughout the region. It features the 2 mile “Native Animal Nature Trail” that winds through maritime forest, freshwater wetlands and salt marsh habitats and links many native animal exhibits such as wolves, alligator and cougar. Oatland is located 5 miles east of Savannah off Islands Expressway and is open daily to the public for self guided tours from 10:00-4:00, except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Years.
