The Golden Tigers Film Society and Savannah State University’s department of Journalism and Mass Communications (JMC) will host the 2nd Annual SSU Indie Film Festival on Savannah State University’s campus April 13-14, 2016.
The festival will open Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 in Torian Auditorium in the Howard Jordan building. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni film screenings will take place at 6:30pm with an award ceremony following. Films we be screened in the following categories: music video, comedy, documentary, and drama. Thursday, April 14th will be a day of workshops for students to learn from industry professionals about the film industry and various components.
This year’s judges will include Kimberly Blake-Haynes, Dr. Robert L. Stevenson, Drew Hunt, and Nakia Stevens. Haynes is a TV news producer at WSAV, the NBC affiliate in Savannah. Stevenson is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the former chair & a current member of the Savannah Film Commission. Hunt is an award winning videographer and director Stevens, is a SSU alumni and an independent filmmaker and writer in Atlanta.
