Experienced fighters for victim’s rights, Elizabeth Costner and Associates champion the recovery of damages from negligence and on the job injuries.

If you’re injured on the job, your life can change in the blink of an eye and potentially impact your livelihood for the rest of your life. You need someone in your corner making sure you get your due. Just when you think there’s no way out and the insurance company has you up against the ropes, the Elizabeth Costner Law Group will be there fresh in the fight to take on the the insurance companies.

Elizabeth Costner has more than 24 years’ experience as an attorney–she’s both prosecuted and defended cases ranging from personal injury and workers compensation to insurance litigation and on the job injuries. Costner and her team are meticulous collectors of details and will make sure your voice is heard and your rights protected.

“Each client has a unique story and special set of circumstances that must be fully and compassionately understood before we ever set foot in a courtroom” says Costner.

The Elizabeth Costner Law Group has also built a reputation for their expert skills in mediation. With eleven years’ mediation experience, Elizabeth Costner brings a nuanced approach to getting what is due her clients.

“Sometimes mediation is the better way to go, especially in a workers compensation case,” emphasizes Costner.

Mediation most often yields a favorable result that may not be reached in a courtroom judgment. If you’ve been injured on the job, or if big insurance companies keep giving you the run around, the Elizabeth Costner Law Group will be the champions you need to see it through.

Meditation Made Right: Team Work + Legal Savvy + Home Cookin = Your Win

Eleven years ago, attorney Elizabeth Costner stumbled upon something that would positively effect the way she approached law. “I began mediating cases to help facilitate a better outcome for both the employer and the injured worker,” says Costner, “I found that having been both a defense and a claimant’s attorney really helped me in mediations.”

Mediation, especially in workers compensation, gives a clearer voice to the injured worker. How so? “Workers comp cases, if they go to court, are heard by a judge only,” explains Costner, “there’s no trial by jury,” Which means the worker has little say in the courtroom and one person, the judge, decides the outcome. But in mediation both parties have a voice, and they often come to an agreement that couldn’t be obtained in the courtroom.

Costner’s goal is to facilitate a mutual win for both parties, but “if both sides leave feeling a little unhappy, it’s probably a fair settlement,” says Costner. She also emphasizes that there is no downside to going to a mediation. If an agreement can’t be reached, the parties can still go to court.

In eleven years of mediating, Costner stumbled on to something else– the importance of food. Costner has been involved in back-to-back mediations that went from 9 am to 3 pm without any food available. “When people are in mediation sessions, they must have clear, well-fueled minds,” explains Costner, “if people are hungry they don’t represent themselves well. Frankly, people get cranky!”

Costner’s solution? She feeds people. If you agree to mediation with Elizabeth Costner at her office, she and her team will prepare some of the finest southern cookin’ so that both parties are put at ease.

“When people share food together, tensions lessen and animosity fades,” says Costner, “and this is the best way to get that win-win outcome.” For Costner, food leads the way to happy clients and positive legal solutions.
